Conference on Insetting, Bio-CCU/Bio-CCS and Rural Bioeconomy

The online conference was organized by a research team of Prof. Hildebrandt
from the Faculty of Natural and Evironmental Sciences
of University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and was gathering experts from various fields of
negative emission technologies such as biochar application, afforestation/reforestion,
soil organic carbon management, wetland restoration and carbon sequestration
in building materials. 

The aim and scope of the conference was to outline the institutional design and the enabling factors
of regional insetting hubs for bioeconomy stakeholders. The major question was arising in the context
how rural bioeconomy system can be integrated with value-added strategies for compensation
of unavoidable CO2-emissions using negative emissions technologies and ecosystem
restoration approaches.
